The East Matagorda Bay Foundation, Inc.
A 501(c)(3) Organization

Board of Directors

President, John McLaughlin
I have been coming to Sargent for over 50 years and am now a full time resident. It is my desire to serve the community and to preserve and protect the integrity of East Matagorda Bay and its estuarine to the best of my ability. I am a U.S. Navy veteran (Vietnam era), a former business owner, and former GM of an electrical distributor. I earned a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from UH and am a past president of the Technology Alumni Association at UH. I have been involved with the resurrection of the East Matagorda Bay Foundation from the beginning.

Vice-President, Larry Cabness

A weekender since 1954, who grew up in Caney Creek Estates coming down on weekends and for the summer.  Larry is a Captain licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard to operate a non inspected vessel.  He is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and currently employed as sales manager for Amerifab International, Inc., manufacturer of electrical power buildings. Larry and his wife Debbie plan on retiring in Sargent.  He truly cares about East Matagorda Bay and means to protect it and hand it on to our children in pristine condition.
